Raven’s eyes slowly blinked open, her body covered by the thin sheet on top of her. She stretched her arms with a yawn and crawled out, the blanket acting as her cocoon as she walked to Andy’s bathroom.

Did I really sleep with Andy last night?

Flashes of his skin peppered her vision when she closed her eyes and breathed the room in. The sheet fell off of her by the walk-in shower and she walked inside, closing the glass door behind her. She exhaled slowly and started the shower, lathering up with his Axe shower gel and loofah. She smiled softly, the smell acting as a sense of comfort.

Is this how he always smells like that? It’s nice.

She grabbed the bottle, studied it. Black Chill, she read silently. “Huh.” Putting the bottle back, she rinsed off and turned off the water, stepping out and putting on his robe. She snuggled it affectionately as a pit of longing opened up in her chest. God, it’d be perfect if he was here right now.

The door to the bedroom opened and Raven let out a small gasp. She was frozen to the spot, terrified of who could be behind the door. Fear masked the longing as she heard footsteps coming closer to the door. Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god.

She clenched the robe as if it was a security blanket and squeezed her eyes shut as the knob turned and the door squeaked open. Silence lingered for a few moments before a light chuckle fractured it. Her eyes opened and she saw Andy in front of him, a small smirk on his face.

“So… my robe huh?”

Embarrassment flashed in her eyes before it morphed into annoyance and anger. “You… you asshole!”

“I’m home!”

I stepped back inside the threshold of Lynne’s apartment after spending the day running errands. It was surprising how much could be done in a day once you stop running from people so much. I dropped my keys on the entry table and put my purse next to it, waiting for a reply. … Nothing.

“Huh, that’s strange.”

I walked into the house when I heard a moan. I internally gasped and my muscles tensed as I prepared to defend myself. Another moan came from the direction of Lynne’s room and I craned my head closer to hear it. It sounded… painful. Or pleasured. I wasn’t sure.

I creeped closer to the door and gently pressed my ear against it, listening for anything strange. More moans came from behind the door and the sound of springs lightly bouncing greeted me, and I felt like I heard enough… but I couldn’t pull away from the door for some strange reason. I felt compelled to listen in.

“... God… yes…”

I slowly stepped back as the sounds got louder inside of the room, almost pressing my back against the wall as I watched the door in shock and confusion. Lynne, what the fuck? A final scream was heard before I heard an object drop and a low humming sound. If that’s what I think it is…

I turned with my back facing my door and walked backwards towards it, waiting for Lynne to step out and yell at me for watching her. Nothing. I stepped behind the threshold of my door and closed it quietly before turning around in search of Raven.

“Hey Rae! You here?”

No reply. Huh, that’s strange.

I decided to look in her room. “Rae! You in here?”

Her room was as she left it last night: the bed made, her clothes strewn across the floor from searching for another outfit. I walked inside and started picking things up. I shook out each article before deciding whether or not to hang it up or throw it in the laundry. Most of her clothes fell into the first category and what needed to be cleaned left in my hands.

I did the same with my room since I was a lot cleaner than her: then again, I didn’t have to go out and change clothes on such short notice. I grabbed my laundry basket and threw our clothes inside before heading to the laundry room. I started the washer, added the detergent and all that good stuff and started washing.

What else can I do…? I strolled out to the kitchen to wash the dishes and put them away. Maybe the bathroom should be cleaned too…

Two hours and a load of laundry later I managed to clean almost every room in the apartment, save for Lynne’s room. I was feeling pretty good about myself when I sat down and turned on my phone.

Two new voicemails.

I opened my mailbox and pressed the corresponding keys before finally listening to the message.

“Hey Lys. I stayed the night at Andy’s. I’ll explain once I get back; I promise.” Click.

So that’s where she went… but why? I shrugged off the question, opening the next message.

“Hey.”

I gasped. What the hell does he want???

“Listen, um… I’m sorry. About everything. … C-can we talk? Like soon. I… I need to see you again. Just once. To explain and apologize and… make it up to you. Is… is Friday night at 7:00 good? The boardwalk. Where we used to meet up. You remember, don’t you?”

Yeah. I didn’t forget…

I looked up at the clock in the living room. 17:45. Shit… tonight???

“Um… anyway--” his voice startled me. “See you on Friday, I guess. Hope you can make it.” Click.

I stared at the phone in silence for what felt like hours before getting up and putting it to charge. I turned on my music and put on my speakers before stepping in the shower. Let’s get this over with.
It's only been a week? Wow.

There's one more chapter after this and there may or may not be an epilogue. ;)
